Frasca Model 142

The Model 142 is Frasca's extremely popular and versatile twin engine flight simulator. The 142's handling and performance characteristics are similar to that of a typical light, twin engine general aviation airplane. For distinctive realism, an optional Single Engine Conversion Kit can be added in just minutes! It is this kind of versatility that permits the 142 to support virtually all of the requirements for recip engine flight training. The 142 can take on the personality of your smallest single engine, fixed gear trainer or your most sophisticated twin with flight director and advanced avionics.i

Simulator Performance:

It's hard to beat the 142 for its high degree of realism. You will immediately notice that all the cockpit equipment, including flight, engine, and systems controls and indicators are modeled after actual aircraft parts, giving the user very realistic feedback. Additionally, our FAA qualified devices use aerodynamic models that are collected while flying the actual aircraft. This is much more accurate than performance that is based upon predicted flight data alone. All this leads to high fidelity flight simulation that is apparent from engine starting through taxi, takeoff, climb, cruise, slow flight, stalls, descent and landing.

Features & Options:

The model 142 is equipped with numerous features designed to further enhance the training value of the flight training device. These include:

  • FAA approved under 14 CFR parts 61 and 141.

  • Guaranteed FAA Level 2 or 3 qualification. We not only build these devices to AC120-45A Level 2 or 3 standards, but we can also guarantee that they can be qualified in conjunction with the National Simulator Program Managers office in Atlanta.

  • Jeppesen Navigational database for the entire continental U.S. This large navigational database can really help the operator when it comes to providing real world training scenarios. Want to practice approaches at new and unfamiliar airports? Go ahead, simply call up the appropriate file and you can practice approaches to any airport within the continental U.S. Other regions of the world are also available.

  • GISt (Graphical Instructor Station), shown below. This state of the art instructor station is now standard equipment on the Model 142.
