TruFlite H Gets FAA Approval
Frasca
International's new reconfigurable helicopter FTD, the TruFlite
H has received FAA approval for both IFR and VFR training. The
first TruFlite H was delivered in only 90 days to Silver State
Helicopters and is configurable for the S300, R22 and R44.
Additional TruFlite H Models are available for turbine single and
twin helicopters. Customers include; the University of North Dakota
for a Bell 206/S300 TruFlite H and the NYPD for an Augusta A119

TruFlites in Service Worldwide
Over
a dozen TruFlites
are now in service at flight schools throughout the US and in
Europe. Schools using Frasca's TruFlite in their curriculum include;
ATP, PAIFA, UND, TVI Community College, McAir Aviation, Simulator
Training Services, Airways Flight Training, Silver State Helicopters
(TruFliteH)
and Ohio State University. Over 20 additional TruFlites are in

Purdue University
Upgrades Frasca Devices
Purdue
University will be upgrading their Frasca
141 and 242 FTDs
with new Garmin avionics. These devices will get GMA 340, GNS 430,
RCR-650 ADF Reciever and GTX 327 Transponder. The 242 will also be
upgraded with a Piper Seminole performance model in addition to the
existing Baron flight model. These upgrades will allow for training
consistent with the newer aircraft cockpits. Purdue currently uses 5

State University Orders Frasca Diamond FTD
Middle Tennessee State University of
Murfreesboro, TN has placed an order for a new Frasca Diamond FTD.
The device will be based on the Diamond DA 40 aircraft and will
feature the new Garmin 1000 avionics package and TruVision
220 with custom visual database. This is the first FTD to

Helicopter Sim Gets
FAA Level 3 Certification
The Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) has given Level 3 cerfication to a Frasca Bell
412 Helicopter Flight Training Device (FTD) owned by Petroleum
Helicopters, Inc. (PHI) of Lafayette, LA., making it the first FAA
Level 3 helicopter FTD in the world. Level 3 certification allows
for training and check credits for all items under Practical Test
Standards (PTS) in addition to special procedures such as OSAP and
GPS approaches. PHI also operates FTDs for the Bell
206 and Bell 407. (March 9, 2004)
Finnish Aviation
Academy Takes Delivery of Bonanza FNPT II Devices
The
Finnish Aviation Academy, Pori, Finland, has taken delivery of
two Frasca A36 Bonanza devices which have received JAA FNPT
approval. The Bonanza devices include
Computer Generated Instruments, CGI, and 220-degree
visual systems. A third device, a King Air FNPT II MCC device
will be delivered later this year and will also include Enhanced
Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS), Traffic Collision Avoidance
