Phoenix East Aviation Chooses Mentor

Phoenix East Aviation, Daytona Beach, FL has placed an order for a Frasca Mentor AATD (Advanced Aviation Training Device) with G1000 advanced avionics, TruVision visual system, FAA approved flight data package, and Graphical Instructors Station (GISt). The Mentor which was developed in 2005, was designed to  train pilots to fly integrated avionics systems such as the Garmin G1000 or Avidyne’s Flightmax Entegra as well as conventional instrumentation without investing in more advanced FTDs. Over 20 Mentor AATDs are in use worldwide. (Dec. 11, 2006)

Ardmore Flying College Takes Delivery of Frasca Sims

Ardmore Flying College, Auckland, New Zealand, has recently taken delivery of a Frasca Mentor Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) and a Frasca TruFlite FNPT II STD (Flight & Navigation Procedures Trainer). The TruFlite is configured as a Piper Seminole and features Frasca’s TruVision visual display system. The Mentor features G1000 avionics, autopilot and TruVision. Frasca Simulators on Display at AOPA & ATAC

Frasca will be displaying flight simulators at two upcoming aviation industry trade shows. A Frasca Cirrus SR-22 FTD will be on display at AOPA – the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association’s annual trade show (Palm Springs, Nov. 9-11), and a Frasca Mentor AATD (Advanced Aviation Training Device) will be displayed at ATAC – Air Transport Association of Canada’s annual trade show in Victoria, BC, Nov. 6-7. Lufthansa Flight Training GmbH (LFT) Subsidiary ATCA Selects Frasca

ATCA of Goodyear Arizona has placed an order for three Frasca Bonanza FNPT II Synthetic Training Devices (STD’s) The STD’s will be customized to represent the aircraft used by ATCA and will include Frasca’s TruVision 220 visual display systems.

“We are very pleased to have been selected by ATCA as they are well recognized as one of the premier flight training organizations in the world and we look forward to building a long and positive relationship with them.” said John Frasca, VP, Frasca International.  “The state-of-the-art equipment Frasca produces will enable us to substitute training hours from the aircraft to the STD’s, thus enhancing safety and costs at the same time,” added Capt. Chinese Flight Academy Selects Frasca Simulators

Qingdao Jiutian Spartan Flight Academy (QJSFA), Liuting, Qingdao, China (PRC) has placed an order with Frasca International, Urbana, IL for two Frasca Flight Training Devices (FTDs). The simulators will be configured as Cessna 172s. One unit will be equipped with Garmin G1000 advanced avionics while the second unit will have conventional instrumentation. Both simulators will feature Frasca’s TruVision 170 visual display system and Graphical Instructor Station (GISt) and will be qualified as CAAC and FAA Level 5 FTDs. (Oct. 12, 2006)

Sixth Frasca CRJ Simulator Receives JAA Approval

Frasca International, Inc. Urbana, Illinois has received JAA approval for their 6th CRJ, Regional Jet Simulator. The British CAA has qualified a Frasca CRJ200 Flight Training Device under JAA regulations as an FNPT II MCC device (Flight Navigation Procedures Trainer II for Multi Crew Cooperation). The Frasca CRJ 200 was recently installed at Atlantic Flight Training in Coventry, England.

A total of six Frasca CRJ simulation devices have now been certified by either the United States FAA as Level 5 or Level 6 Flight Training Devices (FTDs), by Transport Canada as a Level 5 FTD, or by the British CAA as a JAA FNPT II MCC device. In addition to Atlantic Aviation, Frasca CRJ devices are used by; Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Arizona State University, Seneca College, Delta Academy and Western Michigan University. Westwind Aviation Chooses Frasca

Westwind Aviation, Saskatoon, Canada, has placed an order for a Frasca Model 242T, Twin Engine Turboprop Flight Training Device (FTD). The 242T will feature Frasca's TruVision 170 visual display system. West Wind Aviation is Saskatchewan's largest aviation support group. They offer aircraft charter, aircraft maintenance, corporate aircraft management, Aerocentre operations, including fueling and other ground support services. The Frasca FTD will be used for recurrency training. (Sept. 20, 2006)

Two More Frasca Simulators Get JAA Qualification

Two Frasca customers have recently received JAA qualification for their Frasca simulators. Atlantic Flight Training, Coventry, England, has received FNPT II MCC qualification for their high quality pilot training for over forty years and is a longtime customer of Frasca International. Frasca Adds Customer Service Website

Frasca has added a knowledge database to enhance customer service by offering 24 hour help. The database includes articles and information relevant to operating and maintaining Frasca equipment. Access to the database is available to all Frasca customers by registering at http://support.frasca.com. Frasca operators can use information from the database to find solutions to problems or questions that they may have. Frasca is known worldwide for having excellent customer service and now 24 hour help is available! Worldwide Deliveries

Frasca devices have been installed at several locations worldwide recently. Atlantic Flight Training, Coventry, England has taken delivery of their CRJ Regional Jet FTD. Silver State Helicopters, with locations in several states, has received their 21st TruFliteH Helicopter device this month and the Singapore Youth Flying Club will soon take delivery of their TruFlite Warrior Flight Training Device. Frasca ships, installs and services flight training equipment around the world on a continuous basis and is dedicated to providing the best customer service available. (August 10, 2006)

Raptor Upgrade for Westminster College

Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah has upgraded their Frasca Model 142 with new features to enhance their flight training device. This "Raptor" upgrade includes a Graphical Instructor Station (GISt), engine sound, co-pilot controls and instruments, G430 GPS and TruVision 170. Upgrades have become very popular among Frasca users. By adding new components to an existing Frasca simulator, the device can operate efficiently and cost effectively well into the 21st century. More Schools Add TruFlite

The Milwaukee Academy of Aviation, Science and Technology (MAAST) and Massey University have placed order s for a Frasca TruFlite reconfigurable Flight Training Devices (FTDs). MAAST, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is a high school specializing in aviation. Their device will be configured to fly like a Cessna 172. Massey University, located in Palmsterton, New Zealand is a longtime customer of Frasca. Their TruFlite will be convertible between a Seneca V and Piper Warrior. Both units will be equipped with Frasca's TruVision 170 visual display system. (July 27, 2006)

Frasca Simulators on Display at Oshkosh

Frasca will be displaying two flight simulators at EAA AirVenture ( “Oshkosh”) July 24-30 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin – booth 3037, Hangar C. The flight simulators on display will include a G1000 equipped Cessna 172 Mentor Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) and a Cirrus SR22 Flight Training Device (FTD) with Avidyne’s Flightmax Entegra avionics and TruVision 170 (Frasca’s visual system with a 170 degree display system). Schools Choose TruFlite

Gorge Winds Aviation, Portland, Oregon and South Dakota State University, Brookings, have selected Frasca to provide TruFlite FTDs for their flight training programs. Gorge Winds device will be convertible between Beech Baron and Beech Bonanza aircraft, while South Dakota State's device will convert between Piper Seminole and Cessna 172 aircraft. Both devices will feature Frasca's TruVision 170 visual display system and Frasca's Graphical Instructor Station (GISt). The TruFlite is Frasca's reconfigurable flight training device. Frasca Simulators on Display at ALEA, Oshkosh

Frasca International will be displaying flight simulators to two upcoming aviation industry trade shows this month.  Frasca will bring their new deployable helicopter flight training device to ALEA (Airborne Law Enforcement Association) July 19-21 in New Orleans and two fixed wing aircraft simulators to EAA AirVenture (also known as “Oshkosh”) July 24-30 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The Oshkosh devices will include a Cirrus SR22 FTD and a Mentor, both with TruVision visual systems. (June 29, 2006)

TruFlites Get FNPT II Qualification

FlightSafety International, Vero Beach, FL has received JAA FNPT II qualification for their three Frasca TruFlite Flight Training Devices  (FTDs).  The TruFlite FTDs, which are configured as Piper Seminoles, may be used for the full 40 hours of training credit and are equipped with copilot flight controls, TruFeel control loading, full Garmin avionics suite and TruVision single channel projected visual displays. Frasca's TruFlite line of simulators features Computer Generated Instrumentation (CGI) which allows the devices to be reconfigured between two or more aircraft types. (June 20, 2006)

Western Michigan University orders Frasca CRJ and Cirrus FTDs

Western Michigan University's College of Aviation, Battle Creek, has placed an order for three flight training devices--FTDs--from Frasca International.The FTD package will include an FAA Level 6 CRJ 200 regional jet FTD and two Cirrus FTDs.  The Cirrus FTDs will be convertible between the SR 22 and SR 20--the two aircraft models in the college's fleet--and will be dual qualified as FAA Level 6 FTDs.  All three devices will include Frasca's TruVision 220 visual system with custom visual databases, GISt (graphical instructor station) and Frasca's debriefing station, as well as the unique maneuvering capabilities required for WMU's mission of "ab-initio" flight training.  WMU's College of Aviation offers one of the most comprehensive aviation programs of any public university. With nearly 700 undergraduate students, it is one of the largest aviation programs in the nation. The school chose Frasca to provide the Level 6 devices because of the firm's fidelity of design and reputation. (June 8, 2006)

TruFlites Popular Worldwide

Frasca TruFlites are continuing to make their way into flight schools worldwide. Laminar Simulators C.C. in South Africa, Brampton Flying Club, Oxford Airline Training Center and FlightSafety International, Vero Beach are among the schools with new TruFlites installed. The Frasca TruFliteTM  is loaded with features to enable flight training for both single and twin engine aircraft. Using Frasca’s Computer Generated Instrumentation (CGI) it can be converted between a twin engine general aviation aircraft and a single engine aircraft in minutes. Since its’ debut less than three years ago, over 50 TruFlites have been delivered worldwide. (June 1, 2006)

Oxford Airline Training Centre gains UK CAA Qualification for Frasca Simulators

Oxford Airline Training Center (OATC) based at Goodyear Airport, Phoenix, AZ has received JAA FNPT II qualification for their two new Frasca TruFlite flight simulators. The  Frasca TruFlite simulators, (defined as Flight Navigation Procedures Trainers, FNPT, in JAR regulations) have been approved for 40 hours of training credit. The Frasca TruFlites are cockpit specific designs convertible to match both the Seneca and Warrior Aircraft operated by OATC.  They are equipped with Frasca's TruVision visual system w hich provides a 220 degree  out the window field of view  of the simulated terrain .  While designed primarily for instrument flight training, the large visual systems provide for very effective VFR training including takeoff, landings, VFR navigation and ground reference maneuvers.  The devices were recently delivered to OATCs new training facility at Phoenix Goodyear Airport, Arizona where they will be used during the first 135 hours of foundation flight training on their Integrated airline pilot training courses. Parent company, Oxford Aviation Training, based at Oxford Airport UK, is a longtime customer of Frasca International and in addition to the new TruFlite devices, they use two Frasca B737-400 FNPTII MCC  simulators at their training centre at Oxford Airport. Mentor Success

Frasca's newest device, the Mentor AATD is quickly becoming a familiar sight in flight schools worldwide. New orders for G1000 equipped Mentors from Sky Venture Aviation, Purdue University, LeTourneau University and Vectair, cap off a flurry of orders for the popular device which is widely used for training pilots to fly integrated avionics systems such as the G1000 and Avidyne's FlightMax Entegra. Mentor devices are also in use at West Valley Flying Club, Executive flight Training and  Rocky Mountain College among others. The Mentor was introduced in 2005 and is designed to allow for training on advanced avionics such as the G1000 or Avidyne's Flightmax Entegra. (May 1, 2006)

Finnish Aviation Academy Orders EC-135 FTD

The Finnish Aviation Academy, Pori, Finland has ordered a Eurocopter EC135 helicopter Flight Training Device (FTD) from Frasca International.  The FTD will be dual qualified as JAA FTD 3 and JAA FNPT 3 MCC.  These are the highest levels of JAA qualification available for each class of device and will allow considerable flight time credit.  The device will feature Frasca’s latest technology including a TruVision visual system with an extensive, highly detailed database covering much of Finland, simulated EFIS and VEMD displays, flight test validation data, blade element modeling, automatic certification testing, exact cockpit replication, electric control loading, multi-channel sound simulation and NVG compatibility.The EC135 helicopter is a twin turbine engine helicopter manufactured by Eurocopter in Germany. Silver State Helicopters Takes Delivery of First Trailer Sim From Frasca – More TruFlite HTM  Helicopter Devices on Order.

Silver State Helicopters, headquartered in North Las Vegas, Nevada, has taken delivery of the first of six Frasca TruFlite HTM helicopter simulator equipped trailers at their facility in Spring, TX. Two additional simulator equipped trailers will be delivered to San Diego, CA and New Branfels, TX and the remaining three will be delivered to other locations in the near future. The trailer units will be used for pilot training at various locations as needed. Silver State Helicopters has ordered a total of twenty-two TruFlite HTM simulators from Frasca International, Urbana, IL since the launch of the device in 2003. Regional Jet Devices on Order

Frasca has been awarded contracts for two regional jet Flight Training Devices (FTDs). Atlantic Flight Training, Coventry, England, and Western Michigan University, Battle Creek, have placed orders for CRJ Devices. Atlantic Flight Training’s device will simulate the CRJ 200 regional jet and will be certified as an FNPT II MCC. It will feature Collins Pro-line IV Avionics Suite, FMS 4200 flight management system, Electric Control Loading (ECL) and Frasca’s TruVision 220 visual display system.  Western Michigan University’s device will be similarly equipped and will be certified as a Level 6 FTD. Frasca Delivers Cirrus SR22 FTD

Frasca has delivered their first Cirrus SR22 Flight Training Device to Glass Cockpit Aviation, Farmingdale, NY. The device features Avidyne's FlightMax Entegra advanced avionics, TruVision 170 with a custom visual database and CAPS simulation. (March 28, 2006)

Diamond FTD for Galvin Flying Services

Galvin Flying Services, Seattle, WA will soon take delivery of their Frasca DA42 Flight Training Device (FTD), the first of it's kind in North America. The FTD will feature Garmin 1000 integrated avionics and TruVision 170. Frasca builds a complete line of training equipment for Diamond aircraft. Other Diamond FTDs built by Frasca include a DA42 FTD in use at Atlantic Flight Training, England and a DA40 FTD for Middle Tennessee State University. (March 14, 2006)

Fox Valley Adds Mentor

Fox Valley Technical College, Oshkosh, Wisconsin,  has placed an order for a Mentor with Garmin G1000. The device will be networked with their Frasca TruFlite (delivered this year) and will feature a TruVision custom data base featuring the Oshkosh airport in high detail. The Aeronautics-Pilot Training program at Fox Valley is a two-year associate degree program  with the primary goal of preparing the graduate to compete successfully for entry level occupations as a pilot or flight instructor. Eurocopter SEA Orders Frasca Helicopter FTD 

Frasca has been awarded a contract with Eurocopter SEA for an EC 120 Helicopter Flight Training Device (FTD). The FTD will be used by Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd. under a contract to provide training to Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) pilots. The device is designed to meet the requirements for a FAA AC120-45 level 5 FTD customized to RSAF specifications. Frasca has previously supplied an FTD to Singapore Technologies for use with similar training. The EC 120 FTD is scheduled for delivery in Fall of 2006. (February 21, 2006)

NorthWest Aviation Takes Delivery of DA-40 FTD

NorthWest Aviation, Schaumburg, IL has taken delivery of their Frasca DA-40 Flight Training Device with TruVision 170 for use in their flight training program. The DA-40 FTD features Garmin G1000 avionics. Frasca manufactures the most complete range of flight training equipment for Diamond aircraft available. (February 7, 2006)

Delta Connection Academy Adds Frasca's

Delta Connection Academy has taken delivery of their first of four Frasca Model 142 Raptor twin engine FTDs. The Raptor FTDs feature upgraded software and hardware, TruVision, GISt -Graphical Instructor Station, HSI, DNRMI, single engine conversion kits and more! Frasca has delivered many Raptor upgraded devices and offers Raptor upgrades to existing 140 and 240 series allowing customers to protect their initial investment by adding the latest in simulation technology. Suburban Aviation Selects Mentor

Suburban Aviation, Ottawa Lake, MI, will take delivery of their new Mentor reconfigurable AATD this month. Their Mentor, which will feature Garmin G1000 advanced avionics and Frasca's TruVision, will be on display in the Cessna booth at The Great Lakes Aviation Conference, January 20 & 21.  Suburban Aviation, a Cessna Pilot Center, will be the first CPC to take delivery of a Mentor. Hillsboro Aviation Orders TruFliteH

Hillsboro Aviation, Hillsboro, OR, has placed an order for a Frasca TruFliteH reconfigurable helicopter Flight Training Device (FTD). The FTD will be configured for training on R22 and R44 aircraft. Hillsboro Aviation is the 3rd largest helicopter school in the US and the largest combined helicopter and airplane school in the northwest. They operate 50 aircraft and currently use two Frasca simulators. (January 3, 2006)
