Olympus/Mitsui/Frasca
Display VisionPlex II at I/ITSEC
Frasca
International and Olympus, represented by Mitsui, will be demonstrating the
Olympus VisionPlex II system at their booths (752 and 742) during I/ITSEC
(November 28 - Dec. 1,
Orlando
,
FL
). The purpose of this joint presentation is to demonstrate the practical
advantages of using the VisionPlex II system in a flight simulation setting
using multi LCD/DLP/LCOS projector visual displays systems. These advantages
include automated set-up, automated edge blending and automated color
balancing between all visual channels.
These features will allow a greater
number of visual channels to be readily employed, providing a much higher
image resolution, in fact even matching Level D and JAR 2H requirements for
resolution and light point size. Because
of the automation provided by the VisionPlex II it becomes more feasible to
utilize multiple visual channels with LCD/DLP/LCOS projectors on display
systems up to 220° by 60°.
Frasca
International, Inc. will have a TruFlite 342 Helicopter flight training device
on display in booth #752. The TruFlite 342 is a generic helicopter Flight
Training Device directed at the B206, EC 120 Koala class of aircraft.
As with all TruFlite models it utilizes Computer Generated
Instrumentation (CGI) which can be tailored to a particular aircraft
configuration and with the use of other configuration kits can be changed to
represent additional aircraft. The
TruFlite 342 is high performance trainer capable of the following training
features:
- Takeoff
and landing
- Climb,
cruise, descent, turns
- Hover
(within and outside of ground effect)
- Translational
flight Autorotation
- Tail
rotor failure
- Retreating
blade stall
The
TruFlite 342 comes fully equipped with a two pilot cockpit including co-pilot
flight controls, a sophisticated and highly realistic sound system providing
rotor, engine and environmental sound cues, engine and aircraft system
simulation, full IFR avionics and our advanced GISt instructor’s facility.
Numerous
visual system options are available, including the spherical system on display
at the I/ITSEC show. The visual system being displayed is configured to
demonstrate a Level D and JAR 2H compliant resolution and for purposes of
demonstration a 110° by 31° image will be presented using the VisionPlex II
system providing automated set-up, edge blending and color balancing with a
three ProjectionDesign DLP projector set-up.
The
projectors selected for this demonstration are ProjectionDesign F1+ High
Resolution DLP projectors. These
Projectors are made for simulation, visualization, medical imaging, public
displays, and similar graphically challenging applications. They are the most
versatile DLP 1400 by 1050 pixel image projectors available They provide; High
Resolution, High Brightness, High Contrast, Comprehensive Connectivity and Low
Latency.
