Frasca’s TruFliteTM Takes Off!

Sales of Frasca International’s newest Flight Simulation device, the "TruFliteTM" have taken off! Introduced less than a year ago, the TruFlite, a reconfigurable flight training device using Frasca’s latest Computer Generated Instrumentation, has been a big success with flight schools worldwide. TruFlite devices have been ordered by: Airline Transport Professionals, Inc. (ATP), the University of North Dakota (UND), TVI Community College, McAir Aviation, Pan Am Academy and more. TruFlite architecture has also been used in devices for the Finnish Aviation Academy, Serco and several other customers.

Airline Transport Professions, Inc. (ATP) has placed an order for ten Frasca Model 142/TruFliteTM devices. The units will be built in a special configuration designed to meet ATP’s requirements and will include Garmin 430 GPS, wide cockpits, dual flight controls and a single channel visual system. ATP provides pilot training at more than 20 locations across the country. UND has taken delivery of their three Frasca TruFliteTM flight training devices at satellite campuses in Arizona, Washington and Hawaii. The UND TruFliteTM devices are reconfigurable between Piper Warrior and Piper Seminole aircraft and feature single channel projected TruVisionTM visual systems. UND has also recently placed an order for a Frasca Seminole FTD. TVI Community College, Albuquerque, NM, has placed an order for a Frasca TruFliteTM device with KLN 94 GPS. The device will be used by the Albuquerque Technical Vocation Institute as they launch a new professional pilot and flight instruction program this month. McAir Aviation has ordered a TruFlite with Frasca’s TruFeelTM control loading system and circuit breakers, Garmin 430 GPS and TruVisionTM 170, Frasca’s visual display system with 170 degree field of view.

The Frasca TruFliteTM product line was developed specifically to meet the requirements for JAA FNPT I and FNPT II devices in Europe and throughout the world. The reconfigurable device is loaded with features to enable flight training for both single and twin engine aircraft. Using Frasca’s Computer Generated Instrumentation (CGI) and realistic overlays with bezels, screws, glass and knobs, the Frasca TruFliteTM device can be converted between a twin engine general aviation aircraft and a single engine aircraft in minutes.

According to John Frasca, Vice President of Frasca International, "The Frasca TruFliteTM devices incorporate our newest technologies developed for Level 6 FTDs and Full Flight Simulators. This technology has been repackaged to be cost effective for more mass produced products – offering our customers high fidelity at an affordable price." In the words of Frasca’s president, Rudy Frasca, "The Frasca TruFliteTM is the right simulator at the right time."
