Finnish Aviation Academy Selects Frasca for New FNPTs

The Finnish Aviation Academy, Pori, Finland, has selected Frasca International to supply three new state of the art Flight Navigation Procedure Trainers, FNPTs. These include two A36 Bonanzas and a King Air 300. The Bonanza’s will be qualified under JAR-STD 3A as FNPT II devices and the King Air will be qualified as an FNPT II MCC device. In addition, the King Air will also be qualified under JAR-STD 2A as a Level 2 FTD. All three devices will include Computer Generated Instruments, CGI, and 220-degree visual systems. The King Air will also include Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS), Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), and Weather Radar.

According to Pekka Paajanen, Managing Director of the Finnish Aviation Academy, "We thoroughly researched the market for FNPT trainers that would meet our requirements and chose Frasca because they produce a high quality device backed by excellent customer service." The Finnish Aviation Academy is the former Finnair Basic Flight Training School located in Pori, Finland. The school is now jointly owned by Finnair, the Government of Finland and the City of Pori. The trainers now purchased will also be available to customers. Presently the Finnish Aviation Academy provides King Air training support to a growing number of operators in Europe.
