Utah State University First to Train With Frasca DA40 RTD
The Aviation Program at Utah State University, part of the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, Logan, will soon be adding a Frasca RTD (Reconfigurable Training Device) to their training program. The RTD simulates the university’s fleet of Diamond DA40 aircraft including Garmin G1000 NXi avionics and will feature a single channel visual display system with Frasca’s TruVision Global visual system. Utah State University holds the highest FAA flight training approval of part 141. The RTD will allow a portion of the required flight time to be replaced with simulator hours. Utah State will take delivery of the first DA40 RTD built by Frasca. Other aircraft models available on the RTD include the Cessna 172, Piper Archer and Piper Seminole. (more…)

Frasca RTDs Receive CASA Approval in Australia
September 16, 2019 Urbana, IL.
Frasca International, Inc. has received Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) approval on their RTD™ (Reconfigurable Training Device) as a category B synthetic trainer. Three FRASCA RTDs have been delivered to CAE for use at CAE Melbourne and CAE Tamworth training facilities in Australia. The three RTDs are reconfigurable between the Cessna 172 and Piper Seminole, all with G1000 NXi Avionics and feature a three-channel visual system.

RTD customers include American Flyers (6 units), Metropolitan State University, Eagle Flight Center, Liberty University (4 units), Purdue University, CAE Global Academy (3 units), Hillsboro Aero Academy (2 units), Rainier Flight Service, the University of Dubuque and Pilot Proficiency with several additional orders in progress.

Eagle Flight Center Adds Frasca RTDs to Eastern Michigan Aviation Program
February 7, 2019 Urbana, IL. Eagle Flight Centre, Ypsilanti, MI has acquired two Frasca RTD™ AATDs (Advanced Aviation Training Devices). The RTDs (Frasca’s new Reconfigurable Training Devices) will be used by the Eastern Michigan University Aviation program (EMU Aviation), who train their student pilots at Eagle Flight Centre.
The two RTDs are configured as Cessna 172 aircraft with real Garmin G1000 NXi software. They are equipped with single channel visual systems and Frasca’s browser based instructor station with ipad/iphone interface. (more…)

Frasca RTD Features Real Garmin G1000 NXi Software
January 30, 2019, Urbana, IL – Frasca International, Inc. announces that they have partnered with Garmin to integrate Real Garmin G1000 NXi software into their new Frasca RTD™ (Reconfigurable Training Device). This is a first in the simulation industry and required extensive collaboration between Frasca and Garmin to ensure that Frasca’s simulation software and Garmin’s G1000 NXi software operate in harmony. The Frasca RTD is approved by the FAA as an Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) and features Frasca’s advanced aerodynamic software using flight test data, a browser/web based instructor station, and convincing out the window visual graphics for a realistic flying experience. In addition, Frasca designed the RTD using robust hardware for reliability and ease of maintenance, while being easily reconfigurable between different aircraft models including the Cessna 172 and Piper Seminole as well as between analog instrumentation and G1000 NXi glass cockpit.
