RTD customers include American Flyers (6 units), Metropolitan State University, Eagle Flight Center, Liberty University (4 units), Purdue University, CAE Global Academy (3 units), Hillsboro Aero Academy (2 units), Rainier Flight Service, the University of Dubuque and Pilot Proficiency with several additional orders in progress.

May 3, 2019. Urbana, IL. OxfordSaudia, a CAE Authorized Training Center has placed an order for two Level 5 Flight Training Devices (FTDs) from Frasca International, Inc. Marine Maj. Ron Chino agreed. Chino, the rotary wing training officer for the Chief of Naval Air Training, demonstrated the new simulator.
Chino said the biggest advantage of the new system is that students can learn to hover inside the simulator before they fly in an actual helicopter. In the past, students could only practice hovering inside a real aircraft, he said.

February, 26, 2019. Urbana, IL. TEMSCO Helicopters, based in Ketchikan, Alaska has recently taken delivery of a FRASCA built AS350B2 Helicopter Flight Training Device (FTD).
TEMSCO, along with NorthStar and Coastal Helicopters will use the FTD to train their staff pilots. The main focus of the FTD will be training new tour pilots on routes and for transitioning from piston helicopters to the AS350, which is a more responsive helicopter.
“The FTD will also be used for mission training, dealing with rapidly changing weather, white-out conditions, and even flat light conditions; scenarios that can be encountered while flying around Alaska. These senarios can be experienced in the simulator to teach pilots to properly recognize and avoid any of these hazards when present,” stated Joe Hicks, Sr. Vice President of TEMSCO. (more…)
February 7, 2019 Urbana, IL. Eagle Flight Centre, Ypsilanti, MI has acquired two Frasca RTD™ AATDs (Advanced Aviation Training Devices). The RTDs (Frasca’s new Reconfigurable Training Devices) will be used by the Eastern Michigan University Aviation program (EMU Aviation), who train their student pilots at Eagle Flight Centre.
The two RTDs are configured as Cessna 172 aircraft with real Garmin G1000 NXi software. They are equipped with single channel visual systems and Frasca’s browser based instructor station with ipad/iphone interface. (more…)
January 30, 2019, Urbana, IL – Frasca International, Inc. announces that they have partnered with Garmin to integrate Real Garmin G1000 NXi software into their new Frasca RTD™ (Reconfigurable Training Device). This is a first in the simulation industry and required extensive collaboration between Frasca and Garmin to ensure that Frasca’s simulation software and Garmin’s G1000 NXi software operate in harmony. The Frasca RTD is approved by the FAA as an Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) and features Frasca’s advanced aerodynamic software using flight test data, a browser/web based instructor station, and convincing out the window visual graphics for a realistic flying experience. In addition, Frasca designed the RTD using robust hardware for reliability and ease of maintenance, while being easily reconfigurable between different aircraft models including the Cessna 172 and Piper Seminole as well as between analog instrumentation and G1000 NXi glass cockpit. Frasca International, Inc., Urbana, IL has received a contract to supply a TBM910 Level 5 Flight Training Device (FTD) to SimCom International’s training center located in Scottsdale, AZ.
The FTD which will be built in an actual aircraft cockpit will be equipped with G1000Nxi with two PFD’s and one MFDs including TAWS, weather radar, synthetic vision, traffic advisory system, ESP/SUP/EDM, real MD302 elecronics standby instrument and enclosed Instructor Operator System (IOS) Cab.
