CTC Aviation Department buys Frasca Flight Simulator

Central Texas College held a ribbon- cutting during its Friday Night Flights Tailfin Tailgate celebration June 23 to announce the addition of four new planes and a flight simulator for the school’s aviation science department.
Two Piper Archers and two Piper Arrows were added to the fleet of training airplanes along with a Frasca Level 5 flight simulator. The new inventory will be used for student training and flight competition. (more…)

Rudy Frasca receives CAT Pioneer Award

Rudy Frasca was one of three recipients to receive the first ‘CAT Pioneer’ award on May 2nd, 2017. The award was given by by CAT (Civil Aviation Training Magazine) during their annual WATS convention on May 2nd. Longtime Frasca customer updates aircraft and FTD fleet
May 12, 2017, Urbana, IL. FRASCA International, Inc., Urbana, IL has been awarded a contract by the University of North Dakota (UND) to provide several Flight Training Devices (FTDs) for their aviation program. The multiple unit purchase agreement will include a large number FTDs for the Piper Archer and Seminole aircraft. The FTDs will be the first to feature the new Garmin G1000 NXI avionics and will be built to FAA Level 5 qualifications. (more…)

Frasca International,Inc.Urbana, IL has received an order from The Ethiopian Airlines Flight Training Academy, the training division of the Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Group, for a FRASCA 172 Flight Navigation Procedures Trainer (FNPT II). The 172 FNPT II will be configured as a diesel model and will include Frasca’s TruVision™ Global visual system with a 210 x 57 cyclindrical visual display system. This will be the first Frasca flight simulator installed in Ethiopia. (more…)

Frasca International Sells Airbus H125 Helicopter Flight Simulator to Aero Asahi Corporation, Japan’s Largest Civil Helicopter Business
URBANA, ILLINOIS (April 20, 2017) — Frasca International has sold a Level 5 Flight Training Device (FTD) for the Airbus H125 AStar (350B3) single-engine helicopter to Aero Asahi Corporation (AAC), Japan’s leading civil helicopter company.
The new Frasca Level 5 FTD will be used by Aero Asahi for H125 pilot training as well as to provide operational training for offshore, emergency medical service (EMS), search and rescue (SAR) and electric power line patrol missions. (more…)

High Fidelity Level 7 Bell CH-139 Jet Ranger Flight Training Device for No. 3 Flying Training School (3 FTS)
March 3, 2017. Urbana, IL. Frasca International has sold a Level 7 Flight Training Device (FTD) for the Bell CH-139 JetRanger helicopter for use by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) No. 3 Flying Training School (3 FTS). KF Aerospace Defence Programs is the prime contractor for the RCAF’s Contracted Flying Training and Support (CFTS) program at the Portage la Prairie Southport Airport in southern Manitoba. The Level 7 FTD was ordered Bluedrop Training & Simulation Inc. of Halifax, Nova Scotia, a CFRS subcontractor. The RCAF Simulation Strategy 2025 announced in 2015 calls for the optimization of simulation across all air force training activities. (more…)

Air Evac Adds Seven Frasca Bell 206/407 Advanced Aviation Training Devices to Enhance Flight Safety
Regionally based simulators will be regularly used by 600 pilots for recurrent helicopter air ambulance and IIMC training.
March 2, 2017. Urbana, IL. Frasca International has sold seven Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATDs) for the Bell 206/407 series helicopters to Air Evac Lifeteam, the largest independently owned and operated Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) provider in the United States. The seven AATDs will be used by Air Evac to provide recurrent flight training for 600 pilots every four months, on HAA operating procedures and flight in inadvertent instrument meteorological conditions (IIMC).
